Universal Accounting (UA), the nation’s largest training organization for accounting, bookkeeping and tax preparation, recently purchased all rights to BizBench software. The transaction, which occurred in October, 2012, enables Universal to release an online application of the software, complete with a new look and streamlined functionality, in February, 2013.
First released by Gerke and Associates in 1999, the software was purchased and improved by Login Tax in 2010. The 2013 release by Universal Accounting will enable business owners to run business assessments independently.
Allen Bostrom, President and CEO of Universal Accounting states, “Universal has been a loyal user of the BizBench software for nearly 10 years and recognized its value early on. In fact, the information we learn from BizBench has been one of the key factors that helped us secure our footing in the Utah 100 for five years and Inc. 5000 for six years. So, when we learned it was available, we jumped at the opportunity and are anxious to release it online in the next few months.”
BizBench software is used by accountants and business consultants to analyze a company’s financial position and detail action items for improvement. Providing high-quality business assessments, BizBench is able to benchmark a company’s financial position against other companies of similar size and industry.
BizBench users have found the software helpful in attracting and retaining clients. David Z., an Ohio CPA says, “We have used BizBench as a selling tool for prospective clients. That is, when we review a prospect's financial information to present a quote, we have included the analysis with our presentation. This recently assisted us in getting a client with revenues of $36 million.”
Another CPA user in Pennsylvania explains, “I use BizBench as a road map for client consulting work. The ‘Ideas for Discussion’ section gives me specific topics I can work on with my clients to address their areas that need the most improvement. I've used other products and BizBench is the best by far.”
Universal looks forward to the 2013 release and expects it will greatly assist business owners in improving their company’s fiscal health. This will prove especially helpful to UA graduates looking to grow their accounting, bookkeeping and tax practices.
